In my free time I knit sweaters, and by knit I mean kick, and by sweaters I mean babies.

Today is Nov. 2nd, this is the day that the Christians, Roman Catholic, and prodistants commemorate the dead. this is also known as "Feast of all Souls", "Defuncts' Day" in belgium and Mexico.
this "Holiday" was established c. 1048 by St. Odilo of Cluny. the legend says that as he was on a pilgam returning from the "Holy Lands". A hermit talked about in the rocks there is a chasm that communcats with purgatory, which he could hear tortured souls coming from this place. the hermit also talked about hearing the complainging of the demons about the efficency of the prayers of the faithful exspecialy from the monks of Cluny. from that day November 2nd Odilo gave orders for the "Cleansing of souls" through out the month of november.

This is a celibration to "cleans" the souls who cannot attin the beatific vision* that may be helped through prayers.
and for the prodistants, at dinner they leave their dinner on the table.

this is another mainly roman catholic religon that you hardly hear of.

so for today just make it a way to honor the dead with just the happy memory or the fearlessness that they have shown you.


*the beatific vision is the direct perception of god, enjoyed by those in heaven, impacting supreme happyness or blessedness.
